Privacy policy

Last updated: October 2026 · GDPR

This is an informative English translation, summarised to the essentials. The legally valid policy is the Spanish one at hogarfax.com/privacidad; if there is any discrepancy, the Spanish version prevails.

1. Controller

Diana R. Popescu (trade name Hogarfax), Spanish tax ID (NIF) 08016912D, Calle Padre Gerardo Gil, 32, 28200 San Lorenzo de El Escorial (Madrid), Spain. Contact: contacto@hogarfax.com.

2. What data we collect and why

  • Property searches: we record the cadastral reference searched and the time. Searching does not require an account.
  • Purchases: payment is processed by Stripe; we receive the purchase email and amount and keep them with the property you bought, to deliver your report and handle support and invoicing. We never see or store your card details. Reports are emailed through Brevo.
  • Land Registry Study: if you choose it, we collect your full name, ID number (DNI / NIE / passport) and declared interest in the property, plus your authorisation, to request the nota simple on your behalf (articles 221 and 222 of the Mortgage Law). The nota simple may contain third-party data (the registered owners); it is kept only with your order.
  • Optional account and contact form: your email (and name or preferred language if you provide them), and the content of your message.
  • Server logs: access IPs, times and pages, kept for up to 30 days for security.
  • Cookies and analytics: strictly necessary technical cookies (the site session, which also stores anonymously the page you arrived from, to measure the service) and, only if you accept them in the cookie notice, Google Analytics cookies (Google Ireland Ltd.) to measure visits in aggregate. If you reject them, Google Analytics is not loaded. We also use Ahrefs analytics, which sets no cookies.

3. Legal basis and retention

Performance of a contract (purchases and the Land Registry Study), consent (contact form, account and analytics cookies) and legitimate interest (security and abuse prevention). Purchases are kept while there are legal accounting and tax obligations (generally up to 6 years); contact messages for 2 years; server logs for 30 days; Land Registry Study data for as long as needed to provide the service and handle any claim.

4. Processors and international transfers

Stripe (payments), Brevo (emails), Google (analytics) and our hosting provider (servers in the European Economic Area). Where a processor handles data outside the EEA, it does so with the safeguards required by the GDPR, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. We do not sell data.

5. Your rights

You can request access, rectification, erasure, portability or object to processing by writing to contacto@hogarfax.com with the subject "GDPR rights". We reply within the legal 30-day period. You can also complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD). Hogarfax is not intended for children under 16.
